The Masterson Sta-Wet Premier Palette saves you paint, money, and time by preserving the freshness of acrylics and other waterbased paints, both while you are painting and between painting sessions. Paints will stay moist on the open palette for hours. Once the lid is closed, the paints will stay in workable condition for days, even weeks.
The Premier Palette features a patented sponge insert and special permeable palette paper. Together they provide acrylic paints with a constant source of moisture. Simply moisten the sponge and lay it inside the tray, then place the palette paper on top. When the lid is open, your paints will have an extended open time. When the lid is snapped shut, the Premier Palette will maintain a moist atmosphere that preserves acrylic paints amazingly well. (For best results, use only Sta-Wet brand palette paper, which is permeable, cleanable, and reusable.)
Made in the USA of tough yet lightweight plastic, the Masterson Sta-Wet Premier Palette measures 1¾"H × 16"W × 12"D (4.5 cm × 40 cm × 30 cm).
The Premier Palette comes with five Sta-Wet palette paper sheets and one sponge insert. Replacement sheets and sponge inserts are also sold separately.

I was having a hard time finding this sponge for my Masterson sta-wet palette and checked the web site for Dick Blick and there it was. I had to order 3 but it was cheaper than what I had paid before in an art store. Thanks!

Good product. Easy to use and when done thrown out. Keeps palette clean and paints stay wet and lasts until your done. Palette pads are a bit pricey and there are not many in package but are durable
It does the job and keeps my acrylics workable

The Difference in Painting
I've been wanting one of these palettes for a while. This is a great sta-wet palette and makes a huge difference for me while painting, and of course, has my custom palette ready to go when I return to the project. I don't know why I waited so long! Ordering from Blick is always convenient and troublefree, so I enjoy their consistent good customer service!

Saving my paint
from Utica NY
I have ordered 3 of the Masterson Sta-Wet Premier Palettes. I love them for what they do.... help to keep my acrylic paints wet. The only issues I have is that the covers are very hard to snap on the corners. It seems they are not made to stay straight When you get them they fit but whenever I try to put the covers on they are very tight and never seem to want to close on all four corners. Also once in a while the sponges seem to get moldy.... I am careful w/the sponge b/c though they say you can wash in washer but I try to keep them as durable as possible by hand washing. I have tried vinegar, Lysol spray, and washing w/soap. I really really like the product but am disappointed that it is so hard to maintain them.
Merchant response: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with this palette. To retard the growth of mold, Masterson recommends adding a bit of ammonia to the water you use to wet your sponge. Another tip they offer is to apply a petroleum jelly to the groove of the lid to make it easier to open and close.
