Safely carve linoleum or MOO Carving Blocks with Martin's natural wood carving block holder.
Ideal for novices or professionals, the block holder has an angled inset that allows for left-handed or right-handed use, and a lip that fits snugly against the edge of a tabletop for stability while cutting. The holder measures 12" × 8¾" (31 cm × 22 cm), to accommodate a variety of block sizes.
No assembly is required.

Pretty good product
Comments about Martin Universal Design Carving Block Holder:
I would have given this 5 stars if the wood had finish on it. I had to put poly on every one which took a lot of work. I like the notch, and have not had any broken ones with 5 high school classes doing printmaking.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Love the center notch
By Le Arte Teacher

I've been an art teacher for 20 years, and bought this for my 11 yr. old to try linocut. (Please note: I do not recommend linocut for young artists, and this was done with careful 1 on 1 supervision.) The middle notch was wonderful! It gave great support against all the pressure needed to carve, allowing her to turn her work to in-between positions to carve more safely. We only used this bench hook for carving, not inking. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because I felt the wood was light and soft. I'm sure the material keeps the cost of the product low, but I wish it was made of a harder wood or metal.

This item is great for printmaking at home or on the go. Good value, nice product, lightweight, yet sturdy.
practical, helpful tool

I have a small space to work, so this has several functions: the main one, I use to to carve lino blocks without them sliding around dangerously (even unmounted), and also to ink them before printing, and if I put a sheet of acrylic on it I can also use it to roll the ink on it, without making a mess. Simple, but quite useful and I like the feel of wood.

These are Great!
We are using this for linoleum prints, and also wood cuts. I love that my students can brace their work and not have to worry about cutting towards their hands.Wish they were built a little more solid.

A good solid value

I hae only had the time to use this several times. But I do like that it fits over the edge of the table to keep it steady. I wish it was a little larger. Okay, a lot larger to better handle large blocks.
