Still manufactured according to the original formulas developed by company founder and noted Italian painter Gianni Maimeri in 1922, Artisti Oils are premium-quality artists' oils that represent the best of both tradition and innovation.
"Just oil and pigment — no additives, no wax. And search out the best pigments from all over the world." This was Maimeri's directive when formulating these paints. The result is an oil color with remarkable purity, intensity, brilliance, and coloring power.
The Artisti line offers a vast palette of colors, including a number of authentic historical pigments that are all but impossible to find these days — Flake White, Zinc White, Prussian Blue, Manganese Violet, Bitumen, and true Sienna earths. Each color is ground according to the characteristics of the individual pigment to achieve optimal levels of viscosity and dispersion, making Artisti Oils an excellent choice for all styles of painting, from glazing to impasto.
With the exception of the whites, which are ground in safflower oil, all Artisti Oils are prepared in the classical way using top-quality, cold press linseed oil, assuring your best creations will stand the test of time.
Less lightfast pigments, and especially those which are hazardous to the health, have been replaced with modern alternatives that loosely resemble the characteristics of the original colors without the associated health concerns. The few colors still considered to some degree damaging to the health (obviously to be used with due precaution) are always marked with a warning symbol.
All Artisti Oils are rated as lightfast in accordance with ASTM D-4303.
Color Chart Note — Use this color chart as an approximation of the real color. If exact color matching is necessary, use actual samples of the materials.

Maimeri Artisti Oil Colors
from Elk Grove, CA
Comments about Maimeri Artisti Oil Colors:
I would not recommend this paint for impasto (unless you are using some kind of thickening medium) because I feel like it doesn't come out as thick compared to other artist grade oil paint (gamblin, michael harding, etc.) and doesn't hold it's body as well when mixing with a palette knife. Even the titanium white feels a bit flat in texture. This doesn't effect it's color quality though. Maybe it just has more oil then pigment ratio. Yellow ocher and Prussian were very lovely colors. The colors come out rich and opaque. The color I choose and tested actually dry rather fast too, within 2-3 days without using any medium. I feel like this paint is perfect for me, since I like working in thin layers and I tend to thin down my oil paints with walnut oil or liquin anyways. Besides the cad. colors, a lot of the other colors available are a really good deal for the amount of paint you get. The size makes me feel like I can freely practice or explore with artist grade paints and not have to worry too much about wasting a little bit at the end of the day.

I'm a plein air painter and like the larger tube, but not too large.
Maimeri Artisti Oils
Beautiful paint! I've used the ochres, siennas, cadmiums, and believe they are the best -- buttery, rich pigments. Their cerulean blue is sublime.

Luminescence of Artisti
from Newark, DE
I have never painted with a white that is more luminescent than the Artisti Titanium White. I love the smooth creamy substance of these paints. I plan to paint exclusively with these paints now that I have found them.

I loved the creamy texture of these paints, the colors are also very deep and rich. The amount of pigment in each tube is incredible. I can't wait to try more colors!
