Liquitex Freestyle is an innovative range of professional products designed to expand the opportunities of traditional and non-traditional artistic expression.
Crafted from the highest-quality materials, Liquitex Freestyle Detail and Large Scale brushes offer the ideal tools for acrylic artists working in both large and small scales.
These brushes stand up to texture gels, mediums, and even water-mixable oils. All Liquitex Freestyle brushes feature ergonomic handles for hours of comfortable use.
Freestyle Detail Brushes — Made from the highest-quality blended synthetic nylon, Liquitex Freestyle Detail brushes offer ideal spring and snap for all acrylic applications, but they can also be used with water-mixable oil paints, and they stand up well to texture gels and mediums. Long, contoured handles provide extra comfort when holding the brushes at the tails, but they're also nicely balanced to provide perfect control when held below the ferrule. The brush size is conveniently printed on both the body of the brush and the handle end for easy identification while painting. Liquitex Freestyle Detail brushes are available in Round, Bright, Flat, and Filbert styles, in a variety of sizes.
Freestyle Large Scale Brushes — The innovative brushes in the Liquitex Freestyle Large Scale line were designed to meet the expanding needs of acrylic artists working on a grand scale. Large, comfortable, non-slip, satin matte handles crafted from the highest-quality seasoned hardwood are paired with top-of-the-line synthetic bristle heads, and stainless steel rustproof ferrules that are screwed and glued to the handle. Freestyle Large Scale brushes are artist-quality brushes that offer excellent durability in large-scale applications requiring rugged tools. Large Scale brushes are available in Broad Flat, Giant, Paddle, Splatter, Universal Angle, and Universal Flat styles.
Broad Flat, Long Handle
The long handle on this brush is easy to grip, for quick, broad, gestural strokes on large-scale work. It can also be used for varnishing. Use this brush with acrylics or water-mixable oil paints.
Broad Flat, Short Handle
This brush is ideal for dragging, figuring, and varnishing large surfaces and walls with broad, gestured strokes. It can be used with acrylics and water-mixable oil paints.
This brush holds a large amount of paint, ideal for covering a large area quickly in large-scale applications. Its handle can be unscrewed so the brush can be attached to a broom handle, ideal for painting hard-to-reach areas. A metal hook on the shoulder of the brush allows the brush to be attached to the side of a paint can or water bucket. Use this brush with acrylics or water-mixable oil paints.
Portable and great for use on the run, this brush is useful for painting both broad marks and edges. Use it for covering large surfaces, spreading thick color, and for smoothing, smudging, and scumbling. Its short length out of the ferrule allows for easy movement of thick color and mediums. It can be used with acrylics and water-mixable oil paints.
This brush is great for creating unique splatter effects. They're available in Round and Flat shapes that each create different marks. These brushes are ideal for use with soft-body acrylic colors or acrylic inks.
Includes four traditional Freestyle brushes, including #6 Round, #2 Bright, #6 Flat, and #4 Filbert.
This is a great all-purpose brush, ideal for surfaces with corners and edges. Use it for covering large surfaces, painting edges, gesso application, spreading, and all painting techniques with acrylics and water-mixable oil paints.

The bristles stay soft and they never shed or break off.
I have a full set of these brushes and prefer to use them!

Comments about Liquitex Freestyle Round:
I love these brushes and own a lot of these brushes in all sizes for various set ups, ie: plein air, home, and in my photo studo painting area. Anyone who sees them and handles them are always impressed, and instant fans. I used them extensively last week at the Plein Air festival in Door Co. Wisconsin.

Comments about Liquitex Freestyle Short Handle Paddle Series 03010:
This was my first use of acrylics, and the biggest piece I've done in any medium, and this brush was used only for the solid background color. But for that job, it was fine - held the paint nicely, and spread it evenly. No complaints!

Good brush, but do this first.
By Leung Fine Art

The brush is very good. Bristles are soft and is truly a varnish brush. However, the hairs do fall out first few washes. I recommend washing the brush 4 or 5 times before using it. That will rid you of the loose bristles before you use it. Do it over a few days. After that's done, the brush is great, perfect for varnishing. The price is especially great here at DickBlick.com.

I was so excited to try these brushes but the bristles started falling out after the first use, getting worse with each use. The last time I used the brush they were coming out by the handful. I usually love Liquitex products but these brushes were a complete waste of money.

My favorite brushes!
from New Jersey
I've been using Liquitex Freestyle brushes for years with my water mixable oils. I've tried numerous brands and Freestyle brushes keep their shape and retain their spring longer than any other brushes I've used.
