Liquitex Basics Acrylic Mediums

Starter Set of 5 — Explore a range of Basics Acrylic Mediums and create new textures and effects with this sample set. It features one 2.5 oz (75 ml) tube each of Coarse Texture Gel, Gesso, Gloss Gel Medium, Iridescent Medium, and Modeling Paste.

Gloss Gel Medium — Improve acrylic color blending, extend paint volume and drying time, and increase paint transparency with this thick, transparent medium. It also works as a glue for paper and canvas.

Coarse Texture Gel — This gel dries to a coarse, sand-like finish. Mix it with acrylic colors before application or paint over the gel when it's dry for various effects.

Gloss Fluid Medium — This medium improves the flow of color for blending and increases transparency. Mix with Basics Acrylics for a gloss finish.

Matte Fluid Medium — This medium improves the flow of color for blending and increases transparency. Mix with Basics Acrylics for an extra matte finish.

Iridescent Medium — This medium provides pearlescent effects when added to acrylic colors. Mix it with acrylic color before application or apply it on top of a dry painting to add shimmer to your work.

Modeling Paste — This opaque, matte structure paste is ideal for 3-D effects. When added to acrylic paint, it thickens the consistency and increases brushstroke retention. It can also be used to build up texture. Use Modeling Paste on any surface, including canvas and wood.

Gloss Varnish — Use this permanent gloss varnish to protect finished paintings. Mix with Matte Varnish to vary the finish sheen.

Matte Varnish — Use this permanent matte varnish to protect finished paintings. Mix with Gloss Varnish to vary the finish sheen.
