Smooth-edged tools for making precise creases in paper, embossing, and burnishing — invaluable for fibrous and heavy decorative papers. All three are made with real bone.

There was pitting on a flat side so was disappointed.
from Portland Oregon
I also use the flat side but it was pitted and I am afraid it could leave marks as I need it for all weights and types of paper. This was disappointing. Because I did not pay s lot I did not reach out to the company.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Legitimate bone folder/scorer, aka made of bone. I have used an acrylic one in the past and it was garbage. These bone tools will last a lifetime and never wear down!

Love using a true bone folder, smooth and solid.
Great little tool

Real bone, smooth and straight, just as it should be. Easy to hold and use. The large is a nice size for holding.
Like discovering the wheel

This thing is like magic. The bone has a great weight to it and creases my pages effortlessly every time. I use it for book-binding and using this thing has felt like discovering the wheel. Such a simple thing, yet crafted carefully, can make a world of a difference!
great little tool

I got it to assist me in cutting paper for block printing. I like the feel of it and it has been very helpful. I just used it to fold primed canvas before cutting it and to rub over tape on a card, to avoid bubbles. I know I will keep finding uses for it.

I've never used a bone folder before so I don't really know how this compares to others, but that said, I absolutely love it. It's now the only way to tear up watercolour paper as far as I'm concerned. I used to struggle with folding the paper while trying not to defile it with my greasy human hands, and with trying to tear it without veering off course and ruining everything. Once I got the hang of this, I could do it all no problem, like a paper-tearing machine. Roz Stendahl has a video on youtube showing how to do it which helped me a lot.I'm including a picture of the small bone folder next to an unused Polychromos colour pencil to give a sense of the size of it. I thought it might be too small when I saw it, but it's great.

I work in the Matting and Framing department of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston Texas, and we use these tools absolutely all the time. They are the best tool for burnishing hinging tape, mat board edges to soften the cutting burrs, and all sorts of other applications. We primarily use the Paper Folder Large version, and it is a fantastic tool to have on hand. Sure, you can burnish with the top of your thumb nail, but for sharp corner accuracy (and for those who love to have a specific tool for a specific purpose) this is a must. And Blick's quality/pricing ratio is very good on this item compared to other art supply stores.

I use this constantly
from San Diego, CA
I bought this 8 years ago and use it almost daily, first as a design student and now in my job putting together proposals. It makes clean lines, doesn't tear the paper, leaves behind no residue, and is just as good as the day I bought it. I love this little thing.
