Lascaux Gouache is truly different from other gouaches. Developed by color experts in consultation with teachers and professional artists, this artist-quality acrylic gouache is richly hued, extremely lightfast, and non-bleeding. Because it's highly concentrated, it’s also extremely economical to use!
When diluted with water, Lascaux Gouache remains luminous and clear. When dry, it remains flexible and resoluble. It can be used on all absorbent supports.

Love love love!
from Mount Airy, MD
I use this paint primarily on gessoed wood panels. I love the thickness of the paint and the quality of the pigment. It can be thick and opaque or transparent.

The best most liquid gouche on the planet!
By America's favorite silhouette artist
from NYC, NY
I have been making silhouette portraits as art and as a business for the past 20 years. In the beginning it took a while for me to find the right product to achieve the perfect balance of smooth application an opaqueness. If you desire a watercolor like wash or a solid top coat, you can get both with this product. I have been going to my local art store for years to buy this product but it is always in limited supply. Now that I have found it on Blick's website there is no reason for me to go to my local store and be dissapointed anymore.

Not what I had hoped for
from Humble, TX
I used this paint on canvas and hoped for an opaque even cover. The results was blotchy and streaky. Some of the colors where stiff and beginning to setup in the bottle. When attempting to thin with water or medium the paint became stringy. My huge error was buying the complete color palette and now have an expensive mistake and still have the need to cover an opaque smooth canvas. No easy way out.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: Colors should not be stiff or solid in the bottles. It sounds as if your paints may be defective. A member of our Customer Care team will be contacting you to see if we can help you with a return or exchange.
