Krylon UV Archival Varnish offers the highest UV protection available in a protective coating. Its non-yellowing formula protects against fading, dirt, moisture, and discoloration in artworks created using acrylic, oil, and watercolor paints, as well as oil pastels and colored pencils. UV Archival Varnish is removable for conservation purposes. Although the varnish dries to touch in 10–15 minutes under normal conditions, wait two hours before handling artwork to avoid fingerprints. The manufacturer recommends the following finishes, based on the medium. Follow the manufacturer's general recommendations for the level of finish, or enhance a work of art by choosing a higher or lower level of finish as desired:
Acrylic paints: semi-gloss or satin
Watercolor and oil pastel: matte
Colored pencil: satin or matte
Oil Paintings: gloss
Digital prints: semi-gloss or matte
