Choose from 30 vibrant colors for use with 100% natural fabrics, such as cotton, silk, rayon, wool, and linen.

Works well for dark colors, mixed results for light
from Huntsville, AL
I wanted to dye two different natural materials (silk, cotton) a medium to light aqua. I split one Turquoise packet between the stovetop 3 gallon dye pots, and removed my materials after only a few minutes, since I could tell already that the color was going to be strong. The 5 yards of cotton gauze dyed *beautifully* - even color, no graininess. Success! The 2 yards of silk was not successful. Color fix occurred strong and quickly, and grains of dark color and big blotchy sections appeared. I was able to dissolve many of the grains of dark color by scrubbing immediately with Dawn soap, but this fix didn't work for the large dark blotches. I plan to remove color and try again another way.
Merchant response: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with this dye. There are a few things that might have caused what you describe, including adding the vinegar too fast. Try allowing the silk to remain in the dye bath for five minutes before the vinegar is added. When you do add the vinegar, make sure you don't pour it directly onto the fiber. Pre-washing the silk, pre-wetting it prior to adding to the dye bath, and frequent agitation are also key to uniform results. All good but, colors really didn't match the slip covers I did in the past. What is best to remove the dye and try again? Thank you in advance. Kurt Kramer
Best selection of colors
The colors are great. I did have to google to figure out how to use it in a front loading washer but once I did, it gave some beautiful tones to some faded bedspreads and curtains.
This is a great dye. I have used this brand several times to dye all types of clothing. It always turns out even and very easy to use. And it doesn't stain my washer.
So easy to use and great results! Highly recommend for any artistic abilities!!

Ok Product, But colors were off
from New York, NY
I used the dye to add color to the canvas bags i brought (which were 100% cotton) the first time i used it i brought the lilac color but it didn't come out to be lilac it came out as a royal blue (which i was very upset about.) the second time I used it I used scarlet color and it came out as red but it wasn't a scarlet it was like a fire engine red. Basically my only problem with this product was the colors they're too intense. The dyeing process was easy even though I didn't use stove top or machine I just boiled water until it got super hot, threw packet in and then fabric and stirred for 30 min. The color stayed on it too it didn't rub off on my skin or anything. for those who want to avoid the color rub off it says on the packet right after you dye it in hot water to wash it out in cold water with soap for the color to stay on it for good. Overall its a good product and its easy to work with, just wish the colors were less intense and for the lilac color to be lilac and not Royal blue.
Merchant response: Dyeing exactly per the instructions listed on the packet may improve your results. A variation on the process may indeed alter results. Please note that any swatches on our website are also intended as representations of the colors and not intended for exact matching.

Very easy, nice color
from Ann Arbor, MI
Couldnt be easier. True color, comes out like it says it will. I wish there were more colors, that werent so intense. However, plan to do some mixing, or using less dye. Just a beginner in this mode, tho; at this point, the washing machine method is perfect. Now doing sheets!
LOVE - color SO vibrant
By H the Knitter
Used 3 times: chartreuse, sun yellow & crimson. Two different yarns: 100% wool, the other 100% merino wool. On the stove. All three outcomes are AMAZING. I never exceeded 400 oz of yarn. The chartreuse and sun yellow are VIBRANT. I made some scarves. No bleeding or color washout and I have washed them a few times. Crimson used 4 skeins of yarn, so I knitted each skein on a machine into a 'blank' (about 85 st across) and dyed them in the pot as four solid objects (Doing this made the process SO effortless and easy; easier to rinse and dry). Color is amazing (crimson) and even. It was easier to dye the knitted object compared to the strands of yarn (too much time to unravel). I am working on the sweater with this dyed yarn and each strand (dk weight) is even and perfect in color. I already have a few more 'blanks' ready to dye more colors. This is the BEST product I have used to date! No mess, easy cleanup!

Didn't work for me
By Vicky D
from Gresham, Oregon
I was trying to dye some curtains black that were brown. The tag on curtains was gone so not sure what they are made of. Regular dye didn't work and this dye didn't either. It was worth a shot so that's why I rated product average. I think curtains are destined to remain brown. Just not at my house!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
