Comments about Iwata Neo Series Airbrushes:
For a new airbrusher trying to get a feel for the tools before taking a huge-money plunge, this little airbrush is fantastic. Easy to use and clean, and is capable of laying solid undercoats and fine details. The only drawback is that it seems to be very susceptible to tip drying, which can cause some frustrations if I'm not paying attention. Other than that an outstanding quality brush in my opinion.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Excellent air brush, I just orderd my third one.
I just bought my third one, really like the trigger models. Very simular to the one I used when I was a car painter for 18 years. I really like it,good quality and easy to keep clean, and do I need to enforce the need to keep all your guns clean. So they will perform as expected the next time you go to use it.

I hate this airbrush
from Los Angeles, CA
I listed it as a solif value because you get what you pay for. As a mua, I thought this would be just like the expensive name brand guns at half the cost. Everytime I use it, it begins GREAT. but a few minutes in, and its jammed up. I can clean and tweek it however it likes, but it still wont work. I know i wont be able to return it because I've obviously used it, BUT i will be going back to the pro store to get a gin that will worl throu a whole application.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Fast shipping. The part I order works great.

It was a nozzle for my airbrush.
i am happy with the double action.
from new jersey
I am getting back into it. I have done heavy brush and process painting. I used it right out of the box. I sprayed directly into a wet millimeter deep isolation coat of medium. I explore wet on wet ideas often. Golden high flow lived well enough thru the airbrush. I bought a neo compressor and it is working ok.

easy to use as a beginner and affordable
from Lafayette, IN
I used it for makeup application (water based and S/B foundations) and it's very easy to use. It is easy to clean. It takes a little practie as a beginner to use a dual action gun. It seems to spray a little more makeup than I am used to compared to the previous gun I owned that came with a system from a cosmetic company. It's affordable and does a great job for what I use for.
Nice easy to use!

The Neo is a lightweight airbrush with a simple design. I'm a weekend brusher, and have owned paasches, badgers, and iwatas. The Neo is nice and works well for rendered t-shirts, helmets with very little overspray and is pretty consist with paint flow. The price is nice also! Overall a good gun!

I like this airbrush.

This airbrush was a pleasant surprise for the price. It was easy to use and worked well with my Createx paints. I don't use an airbrush all the time with my work, so the NEO was perfect for my uses.

I like this airbrush
By Matthew Orme
from West Hills CA
I am not sure about the bad reviews I read. I own 2 Iwata Eclipse HB brushes, a bottom feed and a gravity feed. 4 badger brushes, 2 series 100 (side feed and bottom feed), and 2 series 200. One bottom feed (old style I bought as my first brush in the late 70's, and a new model gravity feed, with 1/32 cup (just a cut out in the body.Just to let you know that I have some reference. I find that I use the gravity feed (I do not own a bottom feed) Neo a lot. I like the 3 cup sizes, and the removable needle cap which the Badgers do not have. I can paint fine lines and big fat ones with no problem. The only thing I don't like are the small nozzles. I much prefer the large self centering ones found in the eclipses.I think that cognitive dissonance is at work here. If people were told that the brush was $150, I think that the reviews would be glowing. It is a great airbrush for modelers painting camo WWII aircraft or thing like star wars models etc. I am not a freehand painter of images, so I can't comment on it's use for that. I have yet to see a review that actually lists the brushes shortcomings, just general comments like the earlier review. I would really like to see comparison paintings. Since Dick Blick will refund if you don't like the brush, give it a try.
