Isabey's Pure Kolinsky Sable Rounds are made with the longest, densest, and most luxurious hair possible.
Hand selected from Siberia during winter, Kolinsky sable is crafted into the highest precision fine art brushes available.
This brush's hair is seated deeper in the nickel ferrule, with less of its curve exposed, maximizing spring, snap, and control. The black lacquered wooden handle is made "Albata" style, which means its width and length are adjusted to balance perfectly with the specific tuft size, making it easier to hold from almost any point on the handle.
This brush is a slightly thinner bellied version of Isabey's Series 6227. It combines precision with the ability to hold a large quantity of paint, for long or full brush strokes. The tuft of the brush is the smallest of any — 29 mm long and 25 mm around at the ferrule; the belly is 8 mm wide when wet. It has excellent resiliency that springs back to an incredibly sharp point.

ISABEY KOLINSKY SABLE BLISS
By Jon the Iconographer

Comments about Isabey Pure Kolinsky Sable Round Short Handle:
There is nothing that can make a painting experience better than the perfect brush, except getting it at a fantastic price. When i heard that these great brushes were available and on sale, I thought it was a hoax. Not so. I find that the Isabey Kolinsky Rounds make painting in egg tempera a dream, watercolor as well. The sable is unmatched in holding and distributing your paint in an even flow and a steady line. Thanks for making my day and even my wallet happier.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Brush tip is off center
By Napa artist
from Resort location
I purchased a series 6228, size 8, and it looked fine when I first received it. But the point of the brush, unfortunately, is off center and is skewed to one side and became apparent as soon as I started using it. I expected higher quality control from Isabey, especially for the larger sized brushes. The brush I got should have never passed inspection.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

One of the best on the market
from New York
With my usual Kolinsky W&N and Raphaël brushes out of stock for months with an indefinite restocking date-desperate, I decided to try a few brushes that happened to be in stock. I'm so glad I did, because these brushes are absolutely fantastic-if not much better then the other 2 said brands I've been using for many years. The spring in the brush is wonderful, keeps it's shape really well and they hold water better then W&N series 7's-just an all around better product in my opinion! I'll continue purchasing this brush, as it's already holding up better then my W&N and Raphaël brushes after a few weeks of constant use as a commercial artist.

I've been using Windsor and Newton Serie 7 brushes for many years and have always believed them to be the best watercolour brushes (which they are). With that in mind I don't know why I bought this brush, but I did and I must say that they are equally as good, maybe even a bit better. I bought the full body brush no. 5 and it has been a joy working with it. It holds a lot more palint and water than the serie 7 brush does and feels a bit softer. Now I'm just looking forward to see if it holds it shape and tip for as many years as my Serie 7 brushes has
