Its unusual shape lends itself to the name "Cat's Tongue." This brush is really three brushes in one. Paint with the point for fine lines, with the side for medium strokes, and with the flat side of the brush for washes and large areas.
The Cat's Tongue has super soft, pure squirrel hair set in a seamless, nickel-plated ferrule on a short, lacquered handle.

Love these brushes
By Queen Gwen

I love these brushes for watercolor. They hold a lot of paint (and water), hold their shape, and are about the most perfect watercolor brush I have ever found. If you take care of them, they are definitely worth the money.

I am trying out some watercolor. I am primarily a silk artist and will also be able to use this brush with my dyes, but right now I cannot work on the silk so I am feeding my artist's hunger with Inktense Blocks and other watercolors.

Nice brush. Glad I purchased.
A unique and versatile brush. Holds lots of water and paint. Soft like you expect for a good squirrel hair brush. Can adapt for a cat's tongue point, or an oval depending on your use.

Great brushes. Holds lot of water and are the best!

Just started using the Isabey line of brushed and the Cats Tongue oval wash is a great brush. Holds a lot of water and pigment for even washes. A little bulky to fit into my half pans ....my only complaint.

This brush lets me on twine with confidence. The brush holds it shape and the right amount of watercolor without having to keep dipping in paint...love it

I was amazed at how the brush laid the watercolor onto the paper...no brush marks. Effortless.Soft color when you want it or a sharp delineation when you need it. The brush delivers.

Versatile brush and a great value
from St. Louis
This brush makes a fine line, and can also hold lots of water and pigment for a mp and drop. It's really versatile and a pleasure to work with. One artist I know uses it for all but final finishing touches.
from Eugene, OR
I've always liked working with flat brushes, but these are far better when it comes to shaping and lifting. They're soft enough to just lay the paint on the paper, rather than working it in.......just lovely to handle.
