Achieve complete technical control over your acrylic paints and painting environment with Golden GAC Acrylic Polymer Mediums. GAC specialty polymers are the raw materials from which other acrylic mediums are created. Use them to modify the working characteristics and appearance of Golden acrylics and other acrylic paints. 

Golden's other acrylic mediums are a blend of GAC mediums, the raw polymers themselves, with each other, and with other structural elements such as gels or powdered marble dust.


**GAC 100 Medium, 8 oz bottle**  - Dilute and extend colors, and increase flexibility and film integrity. Wets out solids more readily than other polymers, and is useful for artists making their own paints.


**GAC 200 Medium, 8 oz bottle**  - The hardest and least flexible polymer. Mix with acrylic paints to increase film hardness and reduce dry film tack. Use to adhere acrylic paints to nonporous surfaces such as glass or plastic. Dries to a clear, gloss finish.


**GAC 500 Medium, 8 oz bottle**  - Adds a self-leveling working quality and dries to a high gloss finish with good transparency. Increases mar resistance, and decreasing dry film tack.


**GAC 800 Medium, 8 oz bottle**  - Use when puddles must dry with the same evenness and smoothness as when wet. Dries with good gloss and flexibility but with moderate clarity. Also ideal for priming chalky surfaces.

Use Golden Matte Mediums to extend acrylic paints while promoting even flow and leveling, and maintaining the film's stability. These 100% acrylic polymer liquid mediums also decrease gloss and increase translucency. 

Matte Medium and Fluid Matte Medium can be used as an alternative to gesso to create a clear ground. Super Matte Medium should always be blended with acrylic paints or mediums. Mix gloss and matte mediums to create a custom satin finish.

Golden Acrylic Polymer Varnish - Gloss, 4 oz bottle

Golden Polymer Varnish with UVLS (UltraViolet Light Stabilizers) is a waterborne acrylic polymer varnish that dries to a protective, flexible, dust-resistant surface. Use it as a final sealant over acrylic paint.

Polymer Varnishes must be thinned before use. They have been formulated thicker than traditional varnishes, to maintain an even suspension of matting agents. This ensures more consistency in surface reflectance.

Varnishes are available in a highly reflective Gloss, and an exceptionally flat Matte. The matte varnish will lighten dark value colors. This varnish is removable with ammonia for restoration purposes. For interior use only.

Golden Fluid Acrylic Paint and Sets, assorted colors, 1 oz

Golden Fluid Acrylic Paints are highly intense, permanent colors with a consistency similar to heavy cream. Produced from lightfast pigments, not dyes, they offer very strong colors with very thin consistencies, and contain no fillers or extenders. Golden Fluid Acrylics are ideal for spraying, brushing, staining, and pouring techniques.


Created for artists who want a low-viscosity, pigment-saturated paint, these paints contain high pigment levels suspended in an acrylic polymer vehicle. Unlike mixtures of heavy-bodied paints and water, they offer fine dispersion, high tinting strength, durability, flexibility, and good adhesion. 


Golden Fluid Acrylic Paints have a similar formulation, pigment load, and color strength compared to Golden Heavy Body Artist Acrylics. Fluid Acrylics have greater leveling, and they load a brush more evenly than thicker paints, resulting in a consistent flow off the brush and longer, more uniform brush strokes.


To create heavier strokes, blend Fluid Acrylics with any Golden Gel Medium to thicken the paint to various extents. Because of the thin consistency and potency of Golden Fluid Acrylics, they are the easiest of all the paint systems to incorporate into powerful gel mixtures. These paints retain excellent flexibility when dry, greatly diminishing the likelihood of cracking that occurs in other natural and synthetic polymer systems. They can also absorb the constant stress and strain placed on canvas when shipped or as it expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity

Golden Gloss Medium is a general-purpose liquid polymer for creating thin, fast-drying glazes, extending colors, enhancing gloss, and increasing film integrity. It's oil-like and resinous, promoting flow and leveling.

Golden Heavy Body Artist Acrylics are known for their exceptionally smooth, thick, and buttery consistency. They have the ability to "stand up" and retain brushstrokes or palette knife marks on the canvas.


The Golden Heavy Body line also contains the largest assortment of unique pure pigments in a 100% acrylic emulsion vehicle available to professional artists. There are no added fillers, extenders, opacifiers, toners, or dyes.


Each Golden Heavy Body Acrylic color is formulated differently depending on the nature of the pigment. Colors that tolerate higher pigment loads dry to a more opaque, matte finish, while colors that are more reactive and don't accept high pigment loading dry to a glossy finish and tend to be more transparent. Since Heavy Body Acrylics are free from additives (such as matting agents) the gloss of each color will be different.


Golden Heavy Body Artist Acrylics are permanent and lightfast. A hand-painted color chart is available upon request.
