Comments about General's Pastel Chalk Pencils:
I bought them first on a sale. I did nothing about this brand because in the Internet you can't actually find reviews from the artists. But when I tried them I was really thrilled! Those pencils are great for the details, for blending ( better than Fiber Castell in MY experience) and very easy to sharp. Colors are great, too. I wish they were selling them in bigger sets.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Pastels without the mess

These are great for adding accents to any drawing. They layer nicely over marker renderings, and are easy to blend. They don't crumble. Very portable!
These are really nice!! I'll probably end up buying again.

I needed a different color consistency for the black paper I use, once I tried these out I fell in love. Not only does it do exactly what I need but I can use them as any regular dry pastel sticks. Will buy again in the near future :)
I like the variety of colors in these.

I use these with my pastels for very small additions.
I used these for the bottom layer of coloring books to lay other coloring pencils over top so the chalk wouldn't smear. They are smooth, a little scratchy, but that's to be expected from chalk pencils. The only issue I had was that 2 of the pencils the chalk kept breaking when I needed to sharpen them. Other than that, they are very nice.
Smooth dry pastels! Works well in blending!

Good for working in details to my chalk art.
Dependable Chalk Pencils

We keep the General's MultiPastel Chalk Pencils (24 count) on hand in my art lab. I wish we could order the pencils by individual color as well as by set. It varies only slightly from school year to school year, but there are certain colors that are rarely used and some that are used at such a frequency that we run out of those colors and have to buy a set just to get the three or four we need the most. This is not a Dick Blick issue, I would venture, but perhaps an issue with how these pencils are offered for purchase to Blick from General's. I deeply wish General's would offer these for sale by individual color. General's would not be losing money by doing this. For me, it would mean ordering three or four pencils at a time of colors such as VanDyke Brown, Dark Gray, Ultramarine, and Midnight Blue, to name just several. I have considered switching to another brand but that is not a cost-effective choice for me.
