An artist-quality alternative to traditional canvas panels — at a great value!
Super lightweight and slender, Fredrix Cut Edge Canvas Panels are made with medium texture canvas mounted to an innovative backing board. Very rigid and stable, with clean, precision-cut edges, they provide the ideal surface for studies, experiments, initial renderings, teaching, and learning — in the studio or in the classroom.
Fredrix Cut Edge Canvas Panels come pre-primed with acid-free acrylic gesso in your choice of either White or Black. They are ideally suited for oils, acrylics, alkyds, and tempera paints.
Set of 180 Panels
These sets contain 180 panels in three sizes, including 60 each of 1-7/8" × 1-7/8", 1-7/8" × 2-3/4", and 2-3/4" × 2-3/4".

Sturdier than expected.
from Pennsylvania, USA
Comments about Fredrix Cut Edge Canvas Panels:
I've been wanting round canvases for a while- I bought the 12" and 8" white canvases- but was not going to buy any, as all I'd seen locally were single stretched ones at $9-$15 for smallish ovals. I wanted to get a trial item before paying that much for a single canvas, as I wasn't sure how much I would like painting on a round canvas. I'm slightly disappointed because the canvas seems essentially glued onto a round board, as opposed to being stretched and folded over one, but to avoid edge distortion/folds/points, that's the best bet you have, so it's understandable. They seem sturdier than most canvas panels I've seen- not the flimsy-ish cardboard. I can't speak for the rectangular ones, as I haven't tried those yet. We did have a Fredrix type when I was in high school that I did like, though. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with these and can't wait to do more paintings on them.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Good for quick work.

This are great boards for quick work. Good for online store art sales and promotional original art work at shows and online.
These round canvases were perfect for my project.
These take a lot more paint than I would have expected. They are thin and durable. Really nice to work on.
Great inexpensive option when you want canvas
from North Salem
I used this to teach a class to 8-12 year olds, it was great and held up to lots of paint. It is a great affordable option when you want the look and feel of canvas but a lower price point.

The WORST canvas panels EVER
By Plein Air Cedar
from Paonia, CO
The Fredrix Cut Edge Canvas Panels are flimsy, warp so bad they could break in pieces and are junky nasty poor quality items. Fredrix usually makes pretty good canvas products so I thought I would give these a try for plein air studies and experiments in oil. No way, they will not hold up. I can't even carry them stacked horizontally without worrying they will snap apart. I can image they will warp inside my wet panel carrier and touch and schmeer each other. I would also have to prime them with gesso at least one more time for them to be usable.I listed them overpriced because they are a total waste of money as they are unusable. I was going to return them for something else but the postage for them was more than they cost.Never buy them they are really poor quality. You will be as disappointed as I was in their flimsy warping selves.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Long time favorite brand

I can count on quality consistency with Fredrix canvas panels, when a project requires a support with no irregularities in the weave.

not as advertised ..
By landscape painter
from Torrey, Utah
These panels are advertised as having a innovative backing .. sturdy and firm. They are not .. the backing is just a thin colored cardboard not even coated with anything. The 12x12 I purchased is floppy and not firm at all. I will use them for testing colors .. a pad of canvas paper would do just as well as these. Surprising poor for Fredrix .. their regular canvas panels are much much better than these. Too bad these are so horrible.
