The Castell 9000, a genuinely classic pencil, was launched by Count Alexander von Faber-Castell in 1905. Over the years, the 9000's quality and finely graduated range of hardness degrees have made it a favorite of artists and illustrators.  
  The Castell 9000 is the ideal pencil for every technical or artistic application, with break-resistant leads that are fully bonded to their casings. 
  Since 1905, this top quality pencil with superior black leads, made of very finely ground graphite and clay, has been a favorite among artists, as well as for precision, technical drafting.

The Castell 9000 Pencil, created in 1905, is a testament to  Faber-Castell's  highest standards of quality, technology, and tradition. 

The Castell 9000 Jumbo features a voluminous graphite tip that offers a wide variety of line widths, while five different hardness grades provide many tones of gray. 

The leads are encased in a comfortable, oversized barrel that is finished with an environmentally friendly, waterbased varnish. The  SV-bonded  leads are extra  break-resistant.
