Welcome to dickblick
The Tadami brush from Escoda is one of the finest crafted brushes in the world. The synthetic mongoose filament simulates the feel of mongoose hair, which has been a favorite of painters for centuries.
The brush head is stiffer than most synthetics, so it can handle thicker paint, yet it still holds a remarkable point. The brush maintains its shape because Escoda's special curing process ensures brush resiliency.
The short grayish brown lacquered handle offers greater control for closer, detailed work and compactness for travel.
Brush sizes — The length and width of a brush of a given shape and size may vary by manufacturer as brush sizes are not standardized. Since fine art brushes are handmade, expect some variation even among brushes from within a single brush line.

I think I got a dud

Comments about Escoda Tadami Synthetic Mongoose Short Handle:
I have about a dozen Tadami brushes and they've all held their shape and made crisp lines. This latest one was horrible. I ordered a size 0 round and there were several thick, stiff bristles in the brush which have never been in any of my other Tadami brushes. I'm not sure if it was because of the bristles in there or not but many of the filaments were splayed out and would not stay in place. I was facing a deadline and trimmed down the thick bristles out of desperation but the hairs still went out in every direction making line work nearly impossible. It was like painting with a chicken foot. I hope this issue was limited to just that one brush so no one else has to fight to get a crisp edge on with their paint.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I use these for portrait painting and the only complaint I have about the brush is that it does not have a long handle. Otherwise, I find it to be a very good brush.

A BRUSH YOU COULD PAINT WATCH DIALS WITH

Comments about Escoda Tadami Synthetic Mongoose Short Handle Round Series 1482:
Talk about holding its point... this brush has them all beat. I've even tried random sloppy lining and this brush just seems to want to take the lead and take it back on course. It holds an incredible amount of paint and releases evenly through to a fine point that looks as if it came from a fine quill fountain pen. Another "synthetic" that's won my heart after a lifetime of pure red sable. This is the easy winner!
The Escoda family is known for crafting some of the finest brushes available. The Modernista is a synthetic bristle designed to replicate the feel of a Mongoose natural hair brush. See why these brushes are a great choice for acrylic and oil painters.
