Welcome to dickblick
The warm character of walnut ink is reminiscent of drawings by Rembrandt. Rich and finely pigmented, Daniel Smith Walnut Ink has a sepia color that resembles traditional walnut-based inks, yet it will not fade.
Ideal for drawings with both dip pens and brushes, this waterbased ink handles like a watercolor on washes, with good layering and lifting capabilities.
2 oz (59 ml) bottle.

lovely warm brown, color consistent in wash
I like the way the color of this inks stays consistent in washes, in contrast to the Winsor & Newton nut brown, which separated into purply and yellowish brown in washes.

By Deb G.
This ink has a wonderful warm tone, flows smoothly and with a nib is a fairly dark brown.

This ink is a wonderful product that produces a consistent result both full strength and diluted, using both a pen or a brush.

Many uses for this product.Looking forward to lots of fun. I love the product, but it's a very small item yet it came in a huge box stuffed with tons of paper. This has happened before from Blick. I don't understand why they can't package items more appropriately.
My favorite calligraphy ink
This is one of the easiest inks to work with for calligraphy. It has a really nice flow to it when writing plus it starts very easily off the nib. There's a lot of variation in the lightness and darkness of the ink when writing, which gives it a very charming, watercolor-esque quality. Definitely my favorite ink I've tried so far.

I use this in water brushes to great effect. It's smooth flowing, does not clog. The only sepia I carry while "urban" sketching.(I strongly dislike that term lol) Great right our of the bottle or it can be diluted for lighter shades/washes. Waterproof when dry, straight up awesome!
