Holds more water than any other synthetic. Large belly tapers to a fine point. The blending and placement of 5 different diameters of fine synthetic filaments make this brush perform like natural hair.
The long-lasting, high quality synthetic fiber has an energetic spring. Brushes are made by hand, so there may be variation with the handles.
Vario Tip Brushes
These brushes feature a blend of Spin and Nova filaments in different lengths for parallel line and multi-textured effects. They can be used with all media and feature nickel-plated, seamless brass ferrules that are resistant to rust.

Bought a couple of the oval washes based on a recommendation from an online class. They are nice and hold a lot of water and have good spring, however, they're not my favorite. The point isn't quite sharp enough for detail work once loaded. Overall a good brush but may not see much use.
great travel brush

This is a great travel brush. It fits together so that I don't even notice the seam.
Excellent travel brushes, great value

Comments about Da Vinci Cosmotop Spin Travel Series 1573:
I bought the size 1, 3, 5 and 12 in the Cosmotop line of DaVinci travel brushes to fill the gaps in my previously purchased Maestro Kolinski sable travel brushes. Overall, I'm very pleased with the brushes. They fit nicely with the Maestros, filling the size gaps almost perfectly. The one disappointment is the #12 - the most expensive of the Cosmotop brushes I bought. It's virtually the same size as the #10 Maestro. In combination with the Maestros, I expect these brushes will give me a versatile and compact set of travel brushes with performance that will rival my studio brushes. For now, I'll just avoid using the #12 until I decide what, if anything to do about it. Since I usually work small when traveling it won't be much of a compromise.
Great for controlled washes

Evaluating against a hake brush. Very silky and even flow, but doesn't hold as much water as hake

Flat Wash 40
from Detroit, MI
I use the flat wash brush to apply large, even layers of acrylic glaze to paintings and use them to apply the acrylic isolation coat prior to varnishing. They lay the medium and paint on very smoothly without uneven areas or visible brush strokes. These are top notch brushes!
