Best crackle I've used.
from Fort Lauderdale, Florida
I've used a lot of crackle finishes over the years. This product gives THE BEST porcelain crackle I've ever found. You do need to do a good gloss base, before applying the crackle (I use Liquitex gloss medium and varnish) and apply evenly. It is a beautiful, fine crackle and gives a beautiful aged look to your work.
I love this product
I have been using this product for many years and it works every time. I especially like the Deco Crackle pack. I do paint boxes and use the Combination Crackle technique which involves the metallic colors mixed with the regular crackle medium. There isn't a better product than this.

I followed the directions and had no problems. I wasnt sure I should buy it at first because of all the negative comments. I used to use the Behr crackle. I didnt use the Sonja paints. I am using Altier Interactives. I mixed the crackle medium 50/50 with the top coat paint and used the Decor Crackle as a middle layer. I applied the top coat when the middle layer was barely dry. It started cracking immediately. The instuctions say to NOT use a wet brush so I used a fresh brush for each layer. That might be where the others went wrong. I am using it for acrylic paintings on canvas.
Meh- not up to par with other crackle me
from New Orleans
I am an old hat at using crackle mediums. I've used many different brands. I tried this one accroding to directions. Ho-hum. Then I tried it with some of hte techniques I usually use. Nothing. At best i got a finish that looked like I used a dirty, cheap paintbrush and crummy paint. This one is permanently off my list -esp since others have wroked so well/effortlessly for me in the past.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Didn't work for me

I've used other brands to crackle, and I couldn't get this to work although I tried several different ways. It left a lumpy, non crackled surface on a stool I used it on, but I sanded it down a little, added black on top, and let it look like a piece that had many old layers of paint.

I can not believe the negative reviews.
This is a different kind of crackle paste. It is not the big crackles, rather it has fine crackles. This can have it's own special effect. When I want the large crackles, I use a different brand. For the effect of small crackles this has a very unusual effect.
