Welcome to dickblick
This is a very fluid, general-purpose alkyd resin medium that can be used to increase the flow and transparency of Chroma Archival Oils, as well as for glazing and other thin applications. Its fast-drying properties allow a variety of techniques beyond what is normally possible with traditional mediums.
Odorless Lean Medium generates very little vapor, resulting in healthier and more pleasant painting sessions.

Love the way this medium helps oil paints dry faster.
from Loveland, CO
Nice product overall, but very misleading. It should not be called "Odourless"- maybe it's labeled odorless when compared to traditional mediums. I've used it on and off for 15 years as an alternative to Gamblin Galkyd, which smells like airplane glue to me. But if you have any sensitivity this Odourless Lean medium will still give you a toxic overload, I get head, neck and shoulder pain almost as bad as W&N Liquin. I have to use a respirator even with ventilation to paint with this. Use with good ventilation! I wish someone would make an oil paint medium that dries oil paints faster and is not toxic.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: Thank you for taking the time to share your comments with us. The term "odorless," when applied to mineral spirits, specifically indicates a class of solvents from which aromatic compounds have been removed to less than 0.25% by volume, and should not be taken to mean that the product is completely without smell. Although this represents a safer alternative to more volatile solvents, good studio safety practices should still be observed, and some users may have unique sensitivities. Archival Lean medium
After experimenting with several different mediums, I truly prefer Archival Lean. Truly no odor and can be used as a glazing medium. Feels very good going on.

Still need some practice with this medium but I'm pleased so far. Colours remain vibrant once dry. I must say that I was impressed wtih Blick's customer service as I had some concerns being in Canada. All emails were promptly and effecienty addressed. All products were packaged better than anything I've received!

I recently took a workshop with Colley Whisson and this is where I learned about this great medium. It gives your paintings a great finish and dries quickly. I recommend you give it a try. You will be happy with the results
Great product to use with oil paint
from Charlotte NC
I recently attended a 4-day workshop with Colley Whisson. He has used this product for years and highly recommends it. After the workshop, I ordered two bottles and use this both in the studio and painting plein air for ease of flow with my oil paints.

I have enjoyed using this product for several years….it was originally recommended to me by Perry Austen (Alabama artist) and later by Colley Whisson (Australian artist)….under Colley's direction I now actually use it to groom and cleanse the brush between colors….it not only makes the painting workable, but it actually strengthens the paint film….it also speeds up drying time similar to Liquin without the smell….I love it

Leaves paint pliable, juicy with clear color.
Fast drying, but the smell is pretty bad
from phoenix, az
It's liquid and brown and it makes the paint dry faster, but it really does smell pretty bad. Not really for use indoors if you don't have good ventilation. I live in Arizona and so can't open doors or windows in summer, so I wasn't able to tolerate it for very long. I won't be buying it again, but if you have good ventilation, go for it.
