This very smooth, white, 18 lb (70 gsm) layout paper is perfect for quick sketches with pencil, pen, or layout markers. It won't bleed, fade, or wrinkle.
Markers can't bleed through. That makes Canson the professional's choice for rough layouts and rendering.

Canson marker paper is BETTER
By R Kelley

Comments about Canson Pro-Layout Marker Paper:
After Lettramax was bought by Winsor Newton they only make A4 pads. Copic A3 pads were the obvious choice by default, but after using them I was disappointed. The markers sometimes bleed through to the next page with Copic and I was not happy. Copic, however, can't keep up with demand, so I tried the Canson Pro-Layout Marker Pad. Yes, I cut off three inches from the pad so I have an 11x 17 pad, but the paper is BETTER than Canson. It is super smooth, white, and translucent so you can use it to over lay sketches and work as a designer works. And it is a more quality paper because the markers don't bleed through to the next page. It is truly a luxurious experience sketching and sketch/rendering on Canson. It has become my go-to marker paper...I use marker paper for ideation and quick rendering sketches for my clients. Now that I have tried Canson, I believe it is a much better paper than Copic, and I intend to continue to use it into the future.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Paper That Can Take It
It's my paper of choice for all artwork: pencil, ink & marker.

Good for practice

This is good paper to practice on. It is a bit more opaque compared to other brands and the back side doesn't absorb the ink as well in the event you need to color the back to fill in for a background color or to add gray to make a color on the front seem darker. It tears easily from the pad.

Really works well for permanent markers and marker rarely bleeds on the paper
Great for beginners and pros alike

I use the 9' by 12' paper for my comic and cartooning work with my copic and micron markers. It is overall a great and reliable product, which holds colors magnificently and blends well. There is no bleed through, even with sharpies. However, I cannot use both sides due to a layering on the back which prevents smooth color... So be careful to use the font facing side. The only complaints I have, is that the paper is thin (slightly thinner than normal printer paper) and can bend and wrinkle easily, and the paper can accidentally rip out of the pad extremely easily. Overall, this is an excellent product, and has treated me well both as a beginner and now as an advanced artist!

Used this marker paper for a college course during crit. Held up nicely. Marker and pencil look very nice on it.
Very useful, I love the way my calligraphy pens work on this paper. Highly recommended to me by my art instructor. Great purchase.

I used this product for coloring my pictures in with my markers. I was very happy when I saw it didn't seep through! Even though you could see it from the other side, it didn't leak on to the page behind it. I didn't plan and drawing on the other side, to begin with so that was great! The paper is really smooth, which is good for me! Pencil erases very well for me, which is another good thing for when I need to write a note on an unfinished page. Last but not least on the pro side, the smallest sketch book of this kind (That I know of) is the 9 in. by 12 in., and even that leaves me a lot of space to draw! What's not so great about this product is that you can see the picture that's on the next page through the page before it, and the paper is REALLY thin. The thin paper isn't that bad, but I can't look at my drawings without seeing the drawing behind it, and I don't feel that good about the drawing. Overall, I really like this product, and plan to buy this further in the future.
