The Blick Contour Floater Frame is a beautiful contemporary frame made in the USA from American hardwood.    So named because the illusion it creates is that your artwork is &quot;floating&quot; within the frame instead of being covered by it, this frame is perfect for displaying a gallery wrap canvas where no staples are visible. The canvas easily attaches to the stretcher bars from the back side with screws.   The Blick Contour Floater Frame is available in three finishes, in a variety of sizes that accommodate 3/4&quot;, 7/8&quot;, or 1-1/2&quot; deep canvases.

A more decorative version of our popular Floater Frame, the Pietra features an elegant design in Gold Leaf and Black or Silver Leaf and Black with a 3/4&quot; wide moulding. Choose from a variety of sizes that accommodate 3/4&quot;, 7/8&quot; or 1-1/2&quot; deep canvases.   The gold and silver leaf frames are hand-finished with the "Old World" technique of showing lines between each individual leaf which reveals a thin separation line.    Note &nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;Frames are sized by the opening, not by the outside of the molding. To determine the size of frame to order, measure the outside of your artwork and order that size frame.    Frame&nbsp;Depth &nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;To find a frame that will accommodate your artwork, measure the depth of the artwork, including any matting or mounting materials, and order a frame with a depth that is, at a minimum, the same as that measured depth.

Blick Wood Floater Frames create the illusion that your artwork is "floating" within the frame instead of being covered by it — perfect for displaying a gallery wrap canvas where no staples are visible. The frame easily attaches to the stretcher bars of the canvas from the backside with screws (not included).

They’re made in a variety of popular sizes with six color options. The 7/8" deep rabbet frames accommodate 3/4" and 7/8" canvases, and the 1-1/2" deep rabbet frames accommodate 1-1/2" deep canvases. A 3/8" clearance between the canvas and the edge of the frame creates the floating effect. Each fame is made by hand. Great care is taken in finishing the wood.

The Gold Leaf frame features several brush coats of gold leaf and is finished with the “Old World” technique that shows hand leafing lines between each individual leaf, revealing a thin black separation line. The Gold Crackle frame achieves its distinctive appearance via a special burnishing technique.
