Best Heavy Duty Stretcher Bars are made of strong, kiln-dried, knot-free pine sourced from Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) certified suppliers. 

The stretcher bars have a 1-1/2" profile and are 2" wide. Each bar's profile has a slightly rounded edge with a 1/2" rise. This prevents sagging and helps eliminate ghost impressions on your final stretched canvas. Each stretcher bar includes keys.

Best Heavy-Duty Cross Braces, Sold Per Strip

When constructing a large canvas that needs extra stability, use Best Heavy-Duty Cross Braces in tandem with Best Heavy-Duty Stretcher Bars. 

Made of kiln-dried pine, Best Cross Braces have a 3/4" profile and measure 1-3/4" wide. Choose from solid or center-notched braces.

If the frame you're constructing measures 36" or longer in either direction, we recommend adding a cross brace every 36" as a rule of thumb. For layout suggestions, visit the Resources tab. 

Best Heavy-Duty Cross Braces are priced per strip, not pair. For the correct fit, order the cross brace in the same size as your stretcher bar. The actual measurement of the cross brace will be shorter, but it will be sized to fit inside the assembled frame.

Please note that even though these cross braces fit snugly against the stretcher bars, they must be attached to the frame with cross brace brackets. Two FREE brackets are included with every cross brace purchase.
