Best Heavy Duty Stretcher Bars are made of strong, kiln-dried, knot-free pine sourced from Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) certified suppliers.
The stretcher bars have a 1-1/2" profile and are 2" wide. Each bar's profile has a slightly rounded edge with a 1/2" rise. This prevents sagging and helps eliminate ghost impressions on your final stretched canvas.

Comments about Best Heavy Duty Stretcher Bars:
Suggest DB mill the bars and cross supports with slots and tongues instead of hardware and the neccessity to drill hole for scews.

I use these stretcher bars for custom acrylic paintings for my Clients, we stretch them ourselves and my husband likes the quality of these and the heftiness of them compared to others. If they ever come in damaged they are replaced no problem

I only use the Blick heavy duty bars even with small paintings. One can afford mistakes, these are the best I've found.

Been using these heavy duty strips for over a year and find them to be well made, easy to put together and always in good shape when I get them. Pricing is always the best when compared with other dealers.

Solid, strong stretchers. True and no warping whatsoever.
Good Quality, fast arrival

I stretched a giclee on canvas on the stretchers I bought from Blick. Since it was large, I used a cross bar. I really like how it went together. Much better quality than I have found at local retail stores.
Quality Stretcher Bars

I'm using these along with cross braces for 20 x 48 inches linen panels. The heavy duty stretchers hold up to linen which shrinks much more than cotton after applying gesso and puts a strain on stretchers. These hold up very well to the task.

Really, Really, Heavy-Duty...

The slotted, mitered corners are very fragile. Some had small cracks in the tongues that created some anxiety when about to join the pieces together. One stretcher was unusable, because a corner tongue was broken off in transit. Some of the tongues are too thick to fit into the opposing grooves and had to be filed down. Invariably, the filing on some was too much and created a loose fit. I would recommend moving up to a better quality brand, if you can afford it.
I have used only these for years now, always from Dick Blick

We have a photography gallery and create gallery wrapped artworks that our customers truly appreciate. These stretcher bars have very good matching components and never warp or degrade.
