I bought this drawing pad as a sketch book for everyday drawing and things that I used to do in my other notebook. It's great for ink, pen, pencil, and marker, but I'm not sure of how it works with super wet media. It's great at erasing and it's super smooth surface is perfect for your pencil; it glides really well and doesn't catch. The only thing I don't like about the sketchbook is that its only 70lb paper and I like 80lb-90lb; thicker paper is just better for me.
Pen Sketcher's Pads
from Michigan City
I've been using Bee Sketcher's Pads for my daily drawing journal for nearly ten years.I find it great paper for pencil drawings - fairly smooth but just enough tooth to hold the graphite. It is also great paper when using Pigma Microns but not so much for dip pen Indian ink. This is due to the fact that it is too lightweight of a paper. Sketcher's Pads would be PERFECT if the paper was twice the weight is now. But, it is still the pad I use every day!
Lovely smooth, sturdy paper - perfect for markers and pens.
I really like these pads. They are a handy size, take ink well, and deal well with erasers too. For best results, I suggest using a backing sheet, but that's no real hardship. The texture is smooth, the white is bright, and it looks great with art markers. It also doesn't bleed very easily.Great product!
A must for my classroom

Pottery students use this book for a active journal- from taking class notes to sketching ideas and documenting finished projects. Great compact size for a crowded classroom!

Perfect for use with brush pens
These pads have been perfect for using with Pentel brush pens. They have a nice smooth surface and seem to be able to take the amount of 'wetness' from the brush without buckling, even when ink covers a fair amount of the page. However, I would hesitate to use them with a brush dipped in ink because that tends to be wetter and I think the paper would buckle.

Perfect for elementary students

After looking at several sketch pads, I concluded that this Bee Paper Pen Sketcher's pad was going to be a perfect fit for my 4th graders. The size, 5.5 x 8.5 is appropriate for their small hands yet there's enough space on each sheet for an ambitious idea. They're using it to draw characters and scenes from our plays that we're creating. The weight of the paper is perfect for their pens, pencils, markers, colored pencils. I knew the students were going to get a kick out of the cover of the pad because it has a fun animated character: a boy on a skateboard drawing with a pen that's larger than him. It's an encouraging visual. The students love their sketch pads.

The size of these sketchbooks are just perfect for my pottery students. The amount of pages is just right too- perfect for their assignments, plus extra for their own doodles, ideas, etc. They fit nicely in reusable shopping bags which is how I collect them in my classroom for grading.
