Art Spectrum Pastel and Multimedia Primer colors are permanent and non-toxic. They're the same primers used on Colourfix Papers, also available from Blick.   Art Spectrum Pastel and Multimedia Primer provides a fine, positive tooth to hold extra color on your work (and less on the floor). Apply the primer with a dampened brush, sponge, or roller, straight from the pot. Brushes wash out in water.   These quick drying acrylic primers bond solidly to almost any clean paper, canvas, card, plastic, glass, ceramic, or even metal. All colors can be intermixed to create new shades. White can be tinted with acrylics, Liquid Spectrum Inks, or Art Spectrum Gouache.   Available in 16 colors, in 250&nbsp;ml (8&nbsp;oz) plastic pots. Clear is also available in a 1&nbsp;L (34&nbsp;oz) size.

It's called &quot;Colourfix&quot; for the obvious reason. This very permanent, lightfast coated paper withstands all manner of artistic experimentation (and even punishment).    These papers are used successfully in practically all media&nbsp;&mdash; pastels, charcoal, pencil, oils, acrylic, gouache, inks, silverpoint, and even watercolor. The natural toothy surface is ideal for pastels, pencil, or charcoal, as it will hold multiple overlays of color without the need to fix between layers.    The absence of fixative allows the velvet bloom and vibrant color of pastel to be preserved. (Apply a final light spray of fixative if desired.)    The unique, fine tooth surface is produced by screen printing Art Spectrum Colourfix Primer onto a heavy weight Hot Press watercolor paper. Available in 9&quot;&nbsp;&times; 12&quot;&nbsp; (229&nbsp;mm&nbsp;&times; 305&nbsp;mm) or 19&frac12;&quot;&nbsp;&times; 27&frac12;&quot;&nbsp; (495&nbsp;mm&nbsp;&times; 686&nbsp;mm) sheets. 140&nbsp;lb (300&nbsp;gsm).

In response to requests from pastellists around the world, Art Spectrum has released its  much-anticipated  range of Colourfix Soft Pastels. 

These very soft pastels match the colors of Art Spectrum's Colourfix papers, boards, and primers, enabling artists to easily &quot;bring back&quot; the background color into the later stages of a pastel painting. 

Colourfix Soft Pastels are available individually in  full-size  sticks or as a set of 20  half-sticks &hellip;one of each color to get you started! 

Full-size sticks measure 12&nbsp;mm&nbsp;&times; 70&nbsp;mm.

These very soft pastels match the colors of Art Spectrum's Colourfix papers, boards, and primers, enabling artists to easily "bring back" the background color into the later stages of a pastel painting.
