Amaco's Paragona Glass Artist Palette is intended to rest on a table surface rather than be held. It's excellent for mixing large areas of color. The Paragona palette is perfectly smooth, easy on brushes, and non-porous. It cleans up with very little effort.
Printmakers love Paragona for rolling printing ink and mono-printing. Use it also as a workspace for clay and crafts.
Paragona is made of strong, 100% tempered safety glass with smoothly beveled, comfortable edges. It has a white vinyl backing.
Dimensions are 11" W × 14" L × 1/8" thick (28 cm × 35.5 cm × 3 mm).

love the glass, but the backing is terrible

Comments about Amaco Paragona Glass Artist Palette:
The glass surface is easy to clean, has not scratched. Unfortunately, the backing does not stay on when solvent gets under the palette. With a better backing, it would be fantastic (and also a larger size :)
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I love working with glass pallets and my studio is small. Two of these work nicely in my space.

I really do love the palette but I won't continue to use it.
from PA, USA
For years I've worked with acrylics and disposable paper palettes but decided to try a glass palette. Even with using the same paints, mediums and techniques, the paint on the glass one dries faster than the paper one and this creates two problems: 1) As you mix colors on the glass palette with your brush, small amounts of the dry/drying paint will lift off with the fresh paint, adhere to your brush and transfer to your painting as you work, necessitating the need for a second brush to continually wipe the dried bits off the painting. 2) You're using more paint because you keep having to replace what has dried out or is getting gummy. If you're an artist who uses retardant with your acrylic paint or uses oil paints, the problems I cited above may be a nonissue for you. But if you use acrylic, stick with disposable paper palettes; I know I will.

For myself this was a great purchase! I bought the glass and my son bought a wood one. In comparison this one is so much nicer and easier to clean up. It is great to see my colors on. Overall I love it!
I would buy this product again

I have always enjoyed the wooden palette; but after reading about this glass palette, I decided I would give it a try. It looks really nice on on my tempered glass drawing/drafting table. I like it for the ease of removing dried on paint and cleaning.
Works like a charm

Yes, this seems expensive, but its a huge step up from the plastic sheet that I was using as a palette for mixing my inks while block printing. This makes my printing much more enjoyable!!
Perfect for oil paint
By Abs Clanty
This palate is perfect for scraping off dry paint, and the white backing helps a lot with determining the hues. Great size for a beginning oil painter!
More than "just glass"

A simple but strong (therefore reliable)method of mixing colors.Well worth the extra price over plate glass
Excellent work surface
from Gainesville, FL
I am able to roll out more than one color for my Lino prints. It's a great surface to work on. The white backing is invaluable to mix colors accurately. I would like to see rubber feet attached to the back of the glass to keep the white from being marred. I'm going to attach my own.
