Comments about Akua Printmaking Plates:
This is the size and quality I need. I found a much lower price for the same item but shipping eliminated the savings so I bought it with the rest of supplies at Blick with free shipping

Eager to try the plates

Fabulous for printmaking!
These are great plates for use in your printmaking curriculum. They are great for Monoprints but limit them to just that print medium. They are perfect for drypoint etchings and collographs. Plus, you can easily combine all three types of printmaking in one print. They are flexible and thin enough to cut into specific shapes but tough enough to stand up to the press. They also aren't bottle and withstand being dropped by students.

I've looked all over for these printing plates and finally found them at Blick's. This gauge printing plate is perfect for monoprinting and thin enough to cut into sizes that are not available pre-cut, i.e., squares or any other free-form shapes. The three packs are good value.

Works really well for drypoint
By Sarah C
I used these for a beginning drypoint class and the students loved them. They're cost-effective and easy to scratch into. However, my only slight criticism is that they're paper-thin, so setting pressure on the press took a little more trial and error than usual. However, they're still a great product.

I use my Akua printing plate for monoprinting. They work nicely and clean up easily.

Akua Printmaking Plates - Another Use
from Germantown, TN
I was searching for plastics that could be used to transfer images from plates (woodcuts, linocuts, etc) and found these Akua plates. The ink transferred much smoother and more completely that from other plastics I've tried. I was able to print from them, on them, to other plates with ease. Transfers and reversals were easily accomplished using Akua printmaking plates. They were also very easy to cut with a utility knife so that they could be tailored to the sizes of the images I had produced. Great product and saved me a lot of money purchasing plates that might have been way to large for my needs.
