A combination of several different clays, Activa Blackjack Earthenware Clay is mined directly from the earth in East Texas. This extraordinary clay is never dried or processed into a powdered form, so its natural character and pliability (also known as plasticity) remain locked inside. The process of blending and wet screening results in a very plastic, silky-smooth, air-dry clay.  

Use Activa Blackjack Earthenware Clay for craft projects such as hand-building, wheel-throwing, sculpture, and modeling. This non-toxic, white modeling clay is excellent for children's arts and crafts projects, for introductory ceramics projects, and for artists at all skill levels, from beginners to professionals. 

Pieces made from Activa Blackjack Earthenware Clay must be fired to become permanent. Cone 06-04

A combination of several different clays, Activa Blackjack Stoneware Clay is mined directly from the earth in East Texas. This extraordinary clay is never dried or processed into a powdered form, so its natural character and pliability (also known as plasticity) remain locked inside. 

Perfect for  hand-building , Activa Blackjack Stoneware Clay won't sag, making it ideal for projects requiring vertical side strength. It bonds easily to itself and adapts to  coil-building  and  free-form  sculpture. The properties inherited from Mother Earth also give Blackjack Clay a smooth feel and texture that makes it enjoyable to throw. 

Blackjack Clay can be carved and decorated easily when  leather-hard . It also responds well to glazes, which can be applied directly to greenware or added to bisque ware before a second firing. It has a milk chocolate color and becomes soft  buff/tan  when fired. 

Keep this clay sealed to remain moist. It stores well and retains a pleasant, clean earth smell.

Blick Talc-Free White Clay (Bisque, Clear Glaze, and White Glaze)

Blick White Talc-Free Clay is a low-fire, moist clay that’s gray-white in its raw state and white when fired. Suitable for hand-building, modeling, and throwing, it's unusually craze-resistant, with a plasticity that makes even large pieces easier to throw.

Bisque fire to Cone 04 (1971°F, 1077°C). The recommended glaze firing is Cone 05 (1911°F), but this clay can be fired as high as Cone 3 (2138°F) without distortion.

At Cone 04, shrinkage is 6.3% and absorption is 13.7%.

A 50 lb carton consists of two 25 lb bricks, each in a poly storage bag, so any amount can be used as required and the rest stored for future use.

Blick Red Earthenware Clay is an excellent talc-free clay with a wide firing range of Cone 06–02 (1855°F–2052°F). 

Bisque fire to Cone 04 (1971°F, 1077°C). The recommended glaze firing is Cone 05 (1911°F), but this clay can be fired as high as Cone 02 (2052°F) without distortion.

At Cone 06, shrinkage is 11.7% and absorption is 7%. At Cone 02, shrinkage is 13% and absorption is 9.2%. 

Blick Red Earthenware Clay is perfect for wheel-throwing or hand-building techniques, and retains its red color after firing. Each 50 lb carton contains two 25 lb bags of moist clay.

Blick Essentials Gloss Glazes come in a variety of bright, true colors that can be intermixed to create an infinite palette of colors. Non-toxic, lead-free, and food safe, these glazes glide smoothly onto bisque, with a self-leveling formula that eliminates brushstrokes from the fired finish. Apply these glazes to cone 04/03 earthenware bisque and glaze fire to cone 06/05. Even on red clay, colors retain their vibrancy.

Color performance at cone 6 varies and is noted on each label. Because they fire to a high gloss finish, Blick Essentials Gloss Glazes do not require clear glazing. We recommend testing on your preferred clay body and firing temperature prior to use.

Blick Essentials Gloss Glazes can be applied to wet or leatherhard clay. When applying glaze to clay, apply 2–3 coats over the entire piece, leaving an area unglazed, such as the back or bottom, to allow for outgassing. Clay should be completely dry before firing.

This glaze is perfect for controlled application over unfired glazes. All colors and glazes are non-toxic. Cone 06–05 (1828°–1888°F, 998°C–1031°C).
