The Louisiana Art and Artists Guild has been an all volunteer organization involved in the Baton Rouge art scene since 1953. The purpose of the Guild is to promote knowledge of, and participation in the visual arts through exhibitions, teachings, programs, workshops, and scholarships. The Guild is dedicated to providing facilities for the exhibition of art executed by and for the encouragement of artists of all proficiency levels and for the education of the public. LAAG is a non-sectarian, non-partisan, and non-profit organization.

Artist and art instructor Marie Morrow is best known for beautiful portraits. She finds it hard to stay confined to one aspect of art. She moves between different mediums creating intricate gourd breadbaskets and whimsical Palm Pals wall décor made from the palm tree and natural and recycled materials. When she is not working in her studio she is giving demos, workshops and art instruction to a room full of enthusiastic student.
