Why should watercolor painting be limited to paper? Daniel Smith Watercolor Ground enables you to use watercolors on canvas, other fabrics, wood, plaster, and hardboard, and even metal, plastic, and glass. Brush it on and let it dry to create an ideal, absorbent surface on virtually any material.
Paint on a beautiful pearlescent surface. This ground makes a white pearlescent paintable area when applied to a white surface. And because it's semi-transparent, it allows the color and/or pattern of the surface it's applied onto to show slightly through the pearlescent sheen. Transparent and semi-transparent watercolors will have a slight pearlescent effect when painted over this ground. Paint an entire surface or just in areas where you want to add pearlescent effects.
