The formulation of each color is modified individually to compensate for the inherent differences in the working characteristics of pigments. The result is an even consistency across the entire palette of colors.
Color Swatches created using heavy application/medium application/50% tint and were applied on acrylic primed canvas (7 oz) material.
Pigment PY14 offers a bright yellow.
Pigment PY14 has been reported to fade with exposure to the sun.
The diarylide yellows are a family of bright yellow pigments with a similar molecular structure. Discovered by Grieshiem-Elektron, Pigment Yellow 14 has been used in lithographic and offset printing applications, textiles, plastics, and paints.
mixed metal oxide
Nickel Titanium Yellow is one of the cleanest and brightest of the inorganic pigments. It has a low tinting strength and average to slow drying time.
Nickel Titanium Yellow has excellent lightfastness and outstanding stability with regard to chemicals, weather, and heat. It is durable in exterior conditions.
Nickel Titanium Yellow is not considered toxic.
Nickel Titanium Yellow was developed in the 1960s.
Nickel Titanate Yellow, Nickel Yellow.
Permanent Yellow PY97 ranges from reddish yellow to greenish yellow with temperature shifts from cool to warm hues. It has good tinting strength and average to slow drying time. Similar in shade to Hansa Yellow 1, it offers much better fastness properties and good heat stability.
Pigment PY97 has excellent lightfastness, particularly in the darker shades.
No significant acute hazards of PY97 are known, though chronic hazards have not been well studied.
Hansa Yellows were first made in Germany just before WW1 from a series of synthetic dyestuffs called Pigment Yellow. They were intended to be a synthetic replacement for Cadmium Yellow. Permanent Yellow (PY97) represents a further development of this line, with the aim of producing a yellow pigment that is suitable for exterior use.
