Encaustic Painting Tools
Encaustic painting tools heat encaustic paint and help artists shape it until it cools. Encaustic heat tools — including heat guns — melt wax paint and other encaustics to make them workable. An encaustic hot plate provides a platform to keep knives and brushes warm. Heat spreads across the surface of the plate for even heating.
Other encaustic tools include cold steel tools in circular and oblong shapes. Similar to palette knives, they help artists mold and shape encaustic paint to achieve a variety of effects.
