Pastel Primers and Grounds
Pastel primers and pastel grounds are used to prepare drawing and painting surfaces prior to applying pastels, charcoal, graphite, chalk, or other dry media. These unique substances create a toothy, rough surface on papers, boards, canvas, and other substrates for the purpose of grabbing and holding onto dry media as it is applied.
