Because it doesn’t melt at high temperatures, Amaco kiln wash creates a protective barrier on kiln shelves that guards against accidental glaze drippings, thereby preventing damage and extending the life of your kiln. Amaco kiln cement is for sealing cracks and chips in kiln walls, floors, doors, and other fire brick pieces. Apply it to the top of each shelf but not to the underside, as kiln wash on the underside of a shelf will flake onto the ware underneath. Clean off the old kiln wash and reapply new kiln wash every time you fire or when the wash begins to chip away.
