Oil Priming Materials
Oil priming materials prepare your surface for paint. They enhance paint adhesion to the surface and create a white background for artists to paint on. Oil primers can be tinted with oil paint to add color. Most oil primers help create a smooth surface, but some create textures, perfect for painting textured scenes and experimenting with dimension.
Ground for oil painting and gessoes for oil painting provide a foundation for oil paint. They should both be applied in thin layers and allowed to dry before painting.
