Producing high quality artist paints has become a legacy for members of the Dworzak family. The paints known today as Da Vinci were first produced three generations ago by Marcello Dworzak.

In 1932, Marcello began formulating his own artist colors while working for a local paint factory in his home town of Padova, Italy. In 1936, Marcello moved to Lima, Peru, where his talent for formulating quality paints got him a job with a reputable paint manufacturer. Marcello's enterprising nature ultimately led to his purchase of this paint company.

Marcello's son Rodolfo joined the business full-time in 1964 after training as an industrial engineer. In 1975, Rodolfo moved his young family to Southern California, where he founded the Da Vinci Paint Company. Today, Rodolfo is joined by his son Marcello in Da Vinci's effort to produce great artist colors.
