Hands-On Cultural Book Series

These hands-on books are an appropriate response to the ancient Chinese proverb: "I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand." This seven-book series emphasizes the "do" part. The hands-on projects range from Aztec rattles for kids to welcoming cats from Japan.

The author has spent years researching the activities included in these books, and with her staff has replicated authentic works of art from museums and private collections around the world. She makes the many multicultural projects doable by specifying very common and readily available materials, and by giving concise, detailed instructions.

This series pretty much covers the world. There are maps keyed to important points of interest, plus some historical and cultural information.
