Paragon's Touch-N-Fire Kilns are feature-packed, with an assortment of styles available for every need and budget. All kilns listed (except model 1613) feature easy-access, easy maintenance drop-down switch boxes, and the Sentry controller. Heating is wonderfully even and economical with 3" energy-saving firebrick. In Cone-Fire mode, selecting Pre-Heat and Slow-Cool is easy too. Each kiln comes with its own stand, and a full-formed, galvanized steel base covers the brick bottom beneath each kiln for extra safety. Peepholes are tapered for wide view without heat loss. Models 23-3, 23-4, 27-3, and 28-3 feature Paragon's exclusive LiteLid spring counter-weight. Model 28-3 is a sectional and dismantles easily for firing sculptures or moving through doorways. Models 82-3, 27-3, and 28-3 feature a protective row of 2" high blank bricks lining the top. Each model is available in 240 V or 208 V. Certified to UL & CSA Standard 499. Three Phase Kilns — Three Phase electric power is available in many industrial and institutional buildings, usually with 208V power. Most facilities with Three Phase power also have separate circuits for Single Phase power. Single Phase electric power is the standard alternating current (60 hz) that is available in all homes and offices in North America, usually with 240V power. A single phase kiln can run using Three Phase power with additional equipment and wiring. Where Three Phase power is available, most high amperage circuits (that might be used to run a kiln) will be Three Phase circuits. Although electric motors such as ventilation fans run more efficiently (require fewer watts) on a Three Phase circuit, kiln heating elements do not. However, it is possible to run a Three Phase kiln using a smaller (lower amperage) circuit than would be required for a comparable Single Phase kiln, if power capacity (amperage) is an issue. Three Phase kilns will not run on Single Phase power. Always consult a licensed electrician before installing a high power electric kiln. see also ... |
