Excel Kilns are designed for high-fire and low-fire work, manufactured with only top-quality components and dependable for years of service. Kanthal A-1 element wire is pinned inside refractory fire bricks with full rough grooves for long element life. Sectionalized construction permits easy brick and element replacement and allows for one-person moving. Each kiln is equipped with a Dawson kiln sitter with limit timer to safely complete your firings. The control box is side-mounted and air-cooled to keep out dust and extend switch life. Sealed, dust-free lids have full floating hinges to allow kiln chamber to expand and contract during firing. The stainless steel jacket also allows for expansion. Peepholes with plugs allow checking operations visually. UL listed. Single phase only, 208V or 240V. The 200 Series has 2½" fire bricks, and the 300 Series has 3" fire bricks. Model EX-344 — This Cone 10 kiln with a firing chamber that measures 22.375" in diameter and 18" deep, handles midsize batches of tile or stoneware, and has the depth to handle large pieces. It is available only in Single Phase power configurations, and is designed for homes and small studios. Amaco's Select Fire Controller and EZ-Lift lid can be ordered as options. External dimensions are Model EX-399 — This Cone 8 kiln has a firing chamber that measures 28" in diameter and 27" deep, big enough for volume production.
