The Brent No. 16 is the ideal potter’s wheel for use in any rehabilitation program. A variable speed power wheel is housed in a frame that was designed in coordination with leading rehabilitation and therapy experts. The Model 16 makes throwing on a wheel possible for persons who otherwise would not have the opportunity — it’s completely wheelchair accessible and may also be used with a standard stool or while standing up. This wheel is mobile and adaptable to the needs of each potter. It can easily be rolled into position on hard rubber casters, fitting through any 36" door. The wheel remains stationary during throwing — four rubber feet raise the casters off the floor to level the wheel and hold it in place. An adjustable crank mechanism adjusts the height of the 12" cast aluminum throwing head from 19½" to 34". Speeds from 0 to 240 rpm can be controlled by the hand lever/foot pedal, which can be placed on the floor or clamped in position on the handy tray at the side of the table. The digital PWM control automatically adjusts torque and speed based on load while delivering superior pedal response. The wheel operates either clockwise or counterclockwise to accommodate both right- and left-handed throwers. Pressing the "forward/reverse" soft-touch button brings the wheel head to a smooth, controlled stop before reversing direction. This wheel is constructed with a heavy-duty welded steel frame and table. The powerful 1/3 horsepower motor allows the user to work with up to 25 lbs of clay. Included with the No. 16 is a two-piece, unbreakable polyethylene splash pan, which is easy to remove and clean. Also included is a 12" Plasti-Bat, designed by studio potters to be a versatile, long lasting, high quality bat that is virtually indestructible! Made of ¼" thick, very rigid, high impact plastic, it will provide continuous use, will not splinter, delaminate, swell, or shrink. It’s easy to clean and is impervious to water and most chemicals. It’s drilled with pinholes that will remain just as drilled and will not become oversized with use. This wheel runs on 110 volt AC household current, drawing up to 6 amps. It carries a 2 year limited warranty. Weight: 310 lb. |
