Tri-Art’s revolutionary Acrylic Top Coat provides artists with a very hard, scratch resistant, yet semi-flexible top coat for application onto paintings, sculpture, and crafts. This durable, water-based product dries to a high gloss, glass-clear, and non-tacky finish. Top Coat is self-leveling and can be brushed, poured, or sprayed to produce a thin protective finish. Once dry, it will remain semi-flexible even in multiple layers. It is washable and virtually non-yellowing. To produce thicker coats and maintain maximum flexibility, apply Top Coat in thin layers, allowing a curing time of 12 to 24 hours between coats. This is the ideal medium for sealing floor cloths that have been painted with acrylics. For best results on flexible surfaces, apply Top Coat while the paper or canvas is stretched onto a solid support, because the Top Coat may cause shrinkage and curling of the edges. Though Top Coat can be lightly tinted with Tri-Art Acrylic colours, it performs best when used full strength over fully dried (cured) paint. It is recommended for indoor applications only. To ensure that a painted surface is fully dried (cured), we recommend allowing from one week to three months curing time on thin applications. Heavy or layered applications can take three to six months to fully cure. see also ... |
