Charles T. Ozmun founded the Chicago Matboard Company in 1902, centering on hand-mounting theatre posters. The company expanded as art boards came into demand in a variety of industries. In the 1950s, the company became Crescent because colored mat board samples were often cut in the shape of Crescent moons.
Today, Crescent serves the framing, commercial art, fine art, and photography markets. Crescent's innovation and stringent quality standards keep the Crescent product line in demand throughout the world.
