Yupo is a compelling and unique alternative to traditional art papers. It's a synthetic paper, machine-made in the USA of 100% polypropylene. It is waterproof, stain resistant, and extremely strong and durable.
This extraordinary, non-absorbent surface resists tearing and buckling and remains perfectly flat, eliminating the need for soaking, stretching, or taping.
Watercolor professionals have found Yupo to be receptive to a variety of aqueous techniques, but it is also ideal for offset printing, silkscreen, debossing, drawing, acrylic painting, and more.
Choose Bright White or Translucent sheets. Pigments applied to the Bright White sheet retain their true clarity and brilliance while the Translucent sheet allows for special layered effects and tracing.
Yupo is pH-neutral, flawlessly smooth, and recyclable.
Because of the unique qualities of this paper, dirt and oils hinder its performance. We recommend removing spots and fingerprints with soap and water before use.
Pads are tape bound on the short side.
Heavyweight Watercolor Paper Pads
The heavyweight, 144 lb (390 gsm) paper in Yupo Heavyweight Watercolor Pads is incredibly strong with a very smooth surface. Its heavier weight makes it more resistant to buckling and warping. Pads contain 10 sheets of paper.

Being a user of Crescent Illustration board I tired Yupo paper as an experiment. I found that in using acrylic and matte medium it will take a time for me to get use to the slick surface. Not sure I would give up the feel and absorption that I have with watercolor paper and board.
I hate watercoloring on paper. I usually use other surfaces. U fortunately most repel water. Yupo, lets the paint stay exactly where i lay it. Unfortunately. Seriously. Love this stuff. Its almost a new way to paint because of the ease of effecting the dried layers of paint. Really cool stuff. I recommend atleast trying it, and different mediums on it.
Decent price, nice product
I use alcohol inks on Yupo paper, and if I dont like what I've done, I can wipe it clean with plain alcohol. Not much I dont like!

This has to be the best watercolor paper that I have come across, and I go through a lot of paper.l I would definitely buy again. It does take a while to dry, but it's worth it.

Great service and good merchandise
I have not used this kind of paper and have been curious since I've been reading reviews other artists write about Yupo.
Interesting product. The idea of a non-porous paper is intriguing. Allows me to create some strange effects that are unexpected. I'm enjoying exploring the potential of Yupo.

What's all the yupo hype about?
from Barrington Illinois
I've heard so much about yupo paper that I wanted to try it out. It's just plastic paper with no special qualities that I can see. It doesn't absorb paint, it has no texture, it's just THERE. I'll stick with regular drawing and painting paper.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: We're sorry to hear that the Yupo is not to your liking. You're correct that it is a completely non-absorbent substrate, and although artists can achieve unique effects on this surface, we understand that it's not for everyone.
