These acid-free Oriental papers are strong and absorbent. They are made in the centuries-old Japanese tradition.
Hosho is a traditional kozo (mulberry fiber) paper that doesn’t shrink or tear easily, making it ideal for woodblock or line printing. Hosho paper is sized.
Kozo rice paper is highly absorbent, making it ideal for calligraphy and watercolor painting. Kozo paper is not sized.
Unryu rice paper has been used for centuries in Japan for creating Shoji screens and is extremely strong, thanks to molded-in fibers. It’s excellent for calligraphy, sumi-e, watercolors, and a good choice for crafts too. Unryu paper is not sized.

Nice paper with texture on one side, smooth on the other. Thin yet strong. Absorbs ink well.

Yasutomo Sumi painting paper roll.
Not as happy as I have been with roll paper before. Had not used in years and was working on some print making and wanted to try a roll. Did not find what I wanted but will continue to look for more papers to use in printmaking.

Lovely but fragile paper
from Taos, New Mexico
Beautiful paper, though a bit fragile for my printmaking purposes, especially the Kozo. I like to wet the paper to make better contact for richer prints - a little spraying is okay, but if the paper gets too wet, it totally disintegrates.
Great buy! Mant uses.

Lower end of Professional
Making zen art with wet paper and sumi ink, this paper is not the best but it is still giving me successful results. You can do professional work with it but i have other paper that looks nicer and is as easy to work with. This is stronger than sketch paper pad by yasutomo.I'll buy this paper again if i can not find a roll without much more looking that is better and a little more expensive.Anybody tried p904 by loew corning? i would like to but it may not be better than this.

Great, but a detail is left out...
from Raleigh, NC
The paper is sturdy and of good quality. The issue that isn't mentioned is that it is not a single roll. It is multiple sheets that are 18" wide by about 47" long attached to each other. So every 47" there is a break. That to me is not a roll but very long sheets attached to each other. That is why it gets a 4 and not a 5. Otherwise it is a very good and cheap product.

I love these rolls of paper and use them for handprinting linoleum blocks. Great deal!
