Welcome to dickblick
Perfect for students, this sheep hair brush is a less costly version of a Classic Hake Brush. Each brush comes with a hole in the handle for hanging.
The brush comes to a sharp point edge when wet and holds a generous amount of ink or water for saturated washes.

I'm pretty sure I received a defect because this brush didn't perform very well for me like it did for everyone else. All it did was shed all over the paper and picking off the hairs wasn't a pleasant experience. I was really excited to use this brush after reading the positive reviews but I was disappointed.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: Thank you for reaching out! Certain fluffier, crinklier hair types tend to not all get bound when the tuft is tied and glued, resulting in more loose hairs. For these brushes in particular, it's important to work these loose hairs out prior to using. One of our Product Information Specialists will be in touch via email to offer additional tips and suggestions.
"Student" does not mean low quality

I ordered both the 2.5" and 1" sizes, but probably the 1.5" by itself would have been sufficient for most quarter or half sheet watercolor paintings. I was really pleased by how much paint these brushes could hold. You can do a wash covering the whole paper in very few strokes. You can have two colors on your brush at one time quite easily. The price was good too.

This is the first time using this product and I am excited to create great art work. Thank you for having the best tools for the creative industry.

While these kinds of brushes are commonly found in the U.S.A., they aren't known in Israel. Hence my searching for a retailer that ships things quickly. The brushes arrived in very good time and my American friend posted them on to me to the Upper Galilee, Israel and I'm using them now. Thank you.

I used this brush to apply varnish on my canvas paintings. No more streaks. I am definitely going to buy other sizes in future.
