Comments about Yasutomo Flat Hake Brush Series 3007:
I found Blick had a wide range of supplies from which I could choose. I am new to water colors and Blick is my #1 choice as I build up my water color supply. Thank you.

Great brush for the money
By Painter Tim

I was a little sceptical about buying this brush because the price was so inexpensive, but after using it several times I was very happy with how it performed. It holds lots of water making washes simple and very smooth in color. It also holds a chisel edge allowing me to do lots more with a large brush. Very happy with this brush.

A Really Bad Brush
By E. Maud
from New Hampshire
This brush feels wrong in your hand -- too short a handle and not comfortable. But, the worst thing was that it started shedding hairs the first time I used it for a watercolor wash. Tried it again and it lost even more. I threw it out. The good news is that Blick's customer service treated me right -- very professional and helpful.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

My favorite hake brush!
Soft and thick brush hairs hold lots of glaze. I especially love the longer handle, which makes it so much easier to glaze vases and other taller objects.
Lives up to its reputation!

As a novice watercolor artist, I purchased this brush for a particular project. I think I'll be able to use it for many projects in the years to come.

I use these brushes for encaustic painting. They are much less expensive than the alternatives and they do the job.
This is a nice brush but it did leave a lot of bristles on my surface.
Cheap Hake brushes
from High Point, NC
These brushes were inexpensive but they are brushy and wild and will not hold a sharp edge when wet. I do use them for large pre weting of paper and some 1st washes but not useable for painting.

I ordered these brushes to apply final acrylic varnishes to my paper mache pieces. The bristles are very fine and soft and they apply the varnish very smoothly. I also used one for painting a mask with liquid acrylic paint and again I was very pleased with how nicely the paint flowed over my work. This is a good all around brush. Great price too.
