These traditional Chinese pigment inks have a dense black formulation that makes them suitable for all ink work, painting, drawing, and calligraphy. Lightfast and permanent, they can withstand wet mounting techniques. A convenient dual cap allows the ink to be poured from the top or the side of the bottle for added control.
Conforms to ASTM D-4236
Intense Black Ink
Intense Black is a dense black ink that is formulated to create beautiful, warm tones in varying shades of gray with the addition of water.
Metallic Black Ink
Lightfast and permanent, Yasutomo Metallic Chinese Inks are dense black inks with metallic powders suspended in them. When used full strength on rice paper, the black ink creates an outline around the metallic colors. The effect is more subtle on other papers. Metallic Golden Black is a very dense black with golden powder suspended in it. Metallic Silver Black is a very dense black ink with silver powder powder suspended in it.
Ultra Black Ink
Ultra Black is a very dense black ink that contains extra carbon and works well on porous and less porous papers, including metallics. It creates unique warm tones when thinned with water.

Comments about Yasutomo Chinese Inks:
This ink is a really good deal. I got Ultra Black one and it is indeed ultra black. It leaves a little bit of shine when it's dry which looks like acrylic ink, but unlike acrylic ink, it's not permanent, meaning, if you wet your drawing, it will wash out, so that might be problematic if you want to use watercolor on top or other similar technique. Otherwise, it is great! I also like the bottle, there is this cap that you have to unscrew to pour ink. Imo the bottle design is perfect to prevent spilling!#sweepstakes

Super Metallic Ink!
from Pahoa, HI
The silver and golden black inks look fantastic on absorbent, unsized paper (I use kozo paper). The ink strokes are bright silver or gold narrowly edged in black, which is a really interesting effect. After drying for at least a few hours, the ink is pretty water-resistant (not 100% waterproof like India ink), so I'm able to add watercolors as long as I don't scrub over the ink.Note: Do not use this metallic ink on sized paper like regular watercolor paper because it will look ugly and never become water-resistant.

The ink comes in a larger bottle and is pure with no residue on the bottom. I was pleased and astonished by the quality.

Yasutomo ultra black Chinese ink
from Troy, NY
This ink is used primarily in Chinese brush painting for black and every shade of gray. Color is used little compared to black, so it has to be good quality.

This is nice quality ink that I am using for Japanese style drawing. I like the spout for ease of pouring and that it did not drip. Since i am new to this, i have been experimenting with the intensity of the black color. I was able to achieve a variety of shades from deep black to grey when water was added.

I ordered this product and just received it a few days ago. I really like it. The ink is VERYYY black and when it dries it does not leave a shiny finish on paper like how black acrylic ink & india ink does. Another great thing about this ink is that a drop goes a long way. I added a few drops mixed it in with water and it lasted a while!!! A must buy and for the price listed, it is definitely worth it.

Tried it with my new Calligraphy brush and it flowed really well. The ink was not weak looking on the sheet and makes it easy to practice writing.

The ink was surprisingly darker then what I thought which is a plus. The only cons for me was that the ink smells like mold & that I got an allergic reaction from it. Other then that I do like it.
