Great bang for the buck

Comments about Yarka Semi Moist Watercolor Pan Sets:
I use Yarka semi moist pan watercolors for Calligraphy. Now I bought them as an economical start for my beginning watercolor students to keep costs low. The colors are very good but not as bold as professional paints, of course. Colors mix well with it's warm-cool split palette. I've attached examples of their very first paintings. Ages 10- adult
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We use these paints for public workshops for beginners and they have lasted for quite a while. They mix fairly well to create new colors.

Yarka watercolor paints are a great buy for the money. I started using them in my classes to keep prices down, and found them to be right up there with expensive paints and much better than other beginning sets. I use them for most of my paintings that have been chosen to be put into prints. They have very heavy pigments and mix well. Wish the set included extra yellow paint.
Nice for beginning students

Bought many for a small lesson/ tea thing I did this week for first time painters. For this purpose, I think they were nice. Colors were basic but they mixed well and went on paper well. I had to buy a tube of white watercolor paint though since the 10 color kit did not come with white. I did a trial run using these colors, was able to mix colors for a nice finished piece. I would not use these for my better paintings, but for little intro lessons, the price and quality of paints are unbeatable!

I'm using this to paint my Christmas cards this year, the color is exactly what I want. They're bright and intense with a little water and beautifully transparent with a little more.My students who've borrowed them from me to learn the media all seem to love it.

I use watercolor along with water soluble graphite and other media. I don't want to invest in large expensive watercolors, but I don't want junk either! These are lovely to work with if you use decent brushes: I don't use the little brush included with the set. Colors are nice, and last: they go a long way. I think they are a bargain.
