Comments about Wyland Whale Tail Art Brushes:
I waited until I had used this brush a few times to leave a review. I used it to blend skies in large oil paintings. I've used it about five times now, and every time it sheds bristles. That may be normal for a brush this big, I had never needed one before, but it is annoying. The bristles are in between soft and stiff, and evenly cut so it blends nicely. Unfortunately it smells like something dead every time I wash it. I've had to leave it outside until it dries. But at least when it's dry there's no smell. Bottom line: Great for the price, just a little annoying.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: The Wyland Whale Tail brush is intended for use with Acrylics. While the natural hairs can stand up to oils just fine, you may drop more bristles if solvents migrate under the ferule and weaken the glue. To combat the smell, you may wish to try some hair or baby shampoo as these are gentle cleaners with pleasant fragrances.

Great brushes of Wyland!
By Rehana, lover of the sea
from Chicago, Il.
Wyland brushes are wonderful. They are nicely made but do wish that the quality was a little bit better. They work real well though. I especially love the sea fan brushes. I find no other fan brushes on the market better than Wyland's that do the job I need. They are great for blending. His large blender brushes are also excellent. The prices are also cheaper than other places.
